Craving A Pizza? I am!

FIGHT!

So who does have the pizza?  That one pizza you want, when your mind is “hmm, pizza sounds good”?

That sadly is a really good question.  I’ve tried many, many different pizzas since I got here.  From restaurants, supermarket freezers, and as of now delivery!  Just that I still don’t have an answer.

It’s definitely between the deliveries; freezers never cut it, and restaurants are to “italian” in there pizza making, that there sadly perfect in there own way.  There good, but will never satisfy a good solid, delicious, watery, pizza craving.

Pizzahut has the best of the 2 deliveries, only because it actually looks tasty, dominos for some reason looks, odd for a pizza.  Taste wise, it’s a tossup, if I could I’d have Dominos sauce, and Pizzahut’s cheese/dough.  Though dominos reminds me of all you can eat Petter Pipper Pizza from back home… That used to be a steal, at $6.50 for it all and a drink!  Here a Large (which is a bit bigger than an American medium, but enough for one person at Pizzahut, and 1.2 at Dominos) is ~1700¥ (at current rate, $19) for cheese.  Delivery is included.

To get a delivery pizza is a nightmare, calling never turned out successfully getting a pizza to my door, let alone (or as far as I know!) ordering.  I can now proudly say I am a member of their pizza club point thingy programs!  So all I do is log in and order!  Took around an hour and a half though to sign up for both of them…

So I’m still craving a real pizza, maybe it’s the grease?  We do not get much of that at all around here! I don’t think I’ll ever know, but n)ext week I might try Pizzakaya (a pun of Izakaya, a Japanese style bar), run by americans, seemingly for ex-pats and located in intriguing Roppoingi.  At least I can get it delivered were I live! One of the perks if you will of living in Tokyo!

A New Years Coffee, A New Years In Tokyo

New years in Japan is a special day, almost a pilgrimage; everyone goes at midnight to the local or big temple thats around.  Though some will party, some will do nothing, but the majority do exactly that!

Now since this is infamous me were talking about, I decided to run around the major spots of Tokyo that New Years Night.  I packed all my gear, in my kata camera bag; one DSLR with 2 lenses, one point and shoot that doubles as a video camera, extra camera batteries and memory cards, one charged up EEE pc 901-X running leopard, and all the associated cables.  Made sure my Suica card was charged up, as the trains run threw the new year!

Studying a Forigen Language

image

It’s one thing to study for a science, math, or history class.  They all use a lot of the same principles in studying.  However if you never were one to study for a language class (even your own native language), doing so when your older is a pain!

In my case I’m one that learns from visual or auditory interactions.  However you can only do that with a language when your using it every day, not with your nose in a book.  Flash-cards don’t help, I end up just memorizing the patterns/colors you might have employed when you made them.  Writing things down works a bit, but not as much as one would like; not to mention incredibly time consuming for an asian language…  No matter what I need music going–normally something electric in nature–to keep my mind from wandering!

Uncut+Unscripted//Tokyo “Meguro Matsuri”

The first video in a series (hopefully) of videos of just showing the “normal side” of wherever I happen to be.  In this case of a local festival at Otorijinja in Meguro-Ku Tokyo.  Yakisoba was really good! Ordered some at two diffrent places, one was much better, other was just ok.  Also had cotton candy, and got myself a lucky charm guy smile . Yes I was a bit of a kid that night.  Was completly worth it, even if just to relive childhood for a couple of hours!

The Wonders of Bread Wrapping

In Japan wrapping anything and everything is fair game. Even if it’s meager bread from a bakery, your bound not to leave unsatisfied!

It’s Me! Really, I’m ok.

Just a bit of fun, was working on something else and stumbled into Photo Booth for a quick session…

Last Train

Walking to the station, on the quiet late night streets of Tokyo. Watching the people, calmly walking around, the ramen stores closing, and the occasional wobbly person walking by. It’s almost a ritual, a right of passage, to see these seemingly contradictory behaviors; that is the calmness, in the land of frenzied frenziness. All with the common destination of the local train station, for that last train, the one you need to get home. While waiting you watch your fellow train riders all line up next to there chosen doors. Some calm and collected, others talking to their fellow rider, and some just hammering away on their phones keypads. As if they are writing the latest novel; which they very possibly might be doing!

Then the train comes, it’s moderately full of people, yet louder than a packed train in the morning rush. Yet it’s joyful, people talking, and recollecting the days stories. Instead of the stoic tenseness on the very same train that morning. Before getting off, they part farewell to there new found friends, as they hop off and head home. Promptly winding down, and then tucking in for the night. As there is still tomorrow, another day to enjoy life and move on.

JR Chou Train Working Hard In Tokyo Mist

JR, best trains I’ve ever seen, consitently on time, always available, and cheap! Best of all, even though above ground, they have less delays than the Tokyo Metro! Not even rain will stop them!

Welcome to Infamous Blog

Welcome to Infamous Blog, this is a sticky intro post for time being, new stuff is below this post.

It’s my little pet project.

It’s a work in progress, but since it’s for myself and letting others share what goes on around me, it’s open to the public. That’s not normal for a side project of mine! So feel special you get this privilege. This current design is a quickie. I have something far better planned but been sick of not having this outlet to work on, so this will quench that thirst. Again this is a beta site, and only a playground for what I really want to do.

What is to come content wise? A lot actually, have lots of videos need to quick edit threw, posts to post, pictures to show off, and random mussings of a young ex-pat living in Tokyo, Japan. Look forward to it!
