It’s been a heck of a trip so far, I’ll be writing more latter tonight when I crash at the hotel. However I did just want to say, I hit the ground running! It’s been non-stop since arrival in Amsterdam, just about every day when I get back I’m so tiered i end up just crashing in minutes.

It’s been fun though, How about a couple of teaser pictures?

Lot’s of packing, lot’s of deliberating, lots of folding.

That can only mean one thing, I’m heading on a trip.  Not just any trip, but a trip to Euro-land–for 6 weeks, with just a carry-on and a backpack.  I’m packed pretty light, light clothe’s even.  Might be a bit chilly at nights but I’ll live.  All quite spiffy and in good taste for Europe this time of year, I’ll even pass in a nice trendy club if need be.

So far:
Carry-on 11kg of 15kg
Backback unknown of 10kg

Still waiting on UPS to deliver my Panasonic DMC-GF1 with 20mm f/1.7 pancake lens.  It’s on the delivery truck so I’m not terribly worried.

Now I’m off to go grab a friend his iPad, get some protein bars for the trip, and pickup a roll of B&W film!

Well its time to start things all over again on this humble blog. Long gone are the days of expression engine, and so long to my nostalgic posts from Japan (they are still here just in case). Welcome back wordpress, and the many more adventures to come with it. Now rather than trying to do substantial blogging, Im going for a more slice of life approach, maybe a good song, a funny picture, or perhaps a quick video I create. Of course the old traditional style(for me at least) longer posts will still rear their heads. Just what matters now is just living, less ranting, less crazy oddities. More norm if you will.

Last night I went to Cut & Paste in a humble (my favorite) club in Shibuya, Womb.

Before going any further let me preface this with the fact I did NOT bring my camera.  I did not think I would have gotten in with it, only to get extremly “DOH!“ when so many people were running around with DSLR’s.

Back to the topic! This event was a Design Competition, they had 2D artists (Photoshop + Illustrator), 3D artists (Autodesk Maya), and Motion Graphics (I have no idea).  They had 5 projectors (4 showing contestants screen, 1 showing info + live video), projecting to ~85 in screens susspended in the air above the contestants; who each had a 21 in Citinq pen screen, and Mac Pro workstations!  There was also a DJ off to the side, Video camera man running around, amusing Japanese MC, and many judges walking around.  If this isn’t making your mouth water, your probably not a designer,

Friday, Kudan Institutes Sports day @ Shin-kiba, Pink/Red team FIGHTO! We better school teachers at basketball too!   Might head to Womb (nicest, relatively underground, club in Shibuya) later that night to show off a friend in style, a crazy swiss moontain man no less.

Saturday, Cut & Paste, Digital Design Tournament @ Womb 5pm. (click for video of past event) Perfect designer bliss, DJ’s, 2D and 3D design competition, and nicest locales in all of Shibuya!

Sunday, Womb Cruise!  One nicest clubs in Tokyo is doing a charted crusie around the bay, with 4 decks of DJ’s and a buffet! (click for more info)
